Understanding Art for Children
Art for the child is something quite different. For a child, art is primarily a means of expression. No two children are alike, and, in fact, a child is not static, but is constantly growing and changing, with increasing perception, understanding, and interpretation of the environment.
A child is a dynamic being; Art becomes a language of thought so that art expression changes as the child grows.
